Amanda Geddes
Amanda Geddes is a highly experienced psychotherapist and co-founder of Therapeutic Axis. Her vision is to ensure that the needs of an individual is the prime motivation in providing appropriate care, referral and effective treatment at the centre.
Amanda has over 25 years of experience working with individuals who experience a wide range of issues. She is a highly skilled and empathic person who believes in the uniqueness of each person.
Whilst she is trained in and informed by Developmental Psychology, Psychodynamic, Behaviour and Humanistic Therapies she is guided by clients individuality and their goals. She works with people experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Addiction and Substance Abuse, Eating Disorders, Family and Relationship issues, Early childhood trauma, Behaviour problems, Grief and Loss.
Amanda provides individual clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists and is an experienced group leader.
Amanda’s background includes working as a clinical director of an Alcohol and Drug rehabilitation unit. Additionally she has worked extensively with those who are socially and economically disadvantaged. She believes strongly in social and economic justice.
Amanda has a strong interest in the area of neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology and how it relates to psychotherapy and counselling treatment.
Amanda is a registered clinical member of PACFA (psychotherapy and counselling federation of Australia).
