Sally Tomkins

Sally Tomkins is a Psychologist who enjoys working in a collaborative, respectful and supportive way with those who consult her. While being trained in a number of approaches Sally has a particular interest in Narrative Therapy. This empowering individualized approach is based on the idea that people are the experts in their own lives and that our lives are made up of many stories, some more helpful than others to the way we wish to lead our lives. When problems occur they often get in the way of us feeling connected with what is important to us and can leave us feeling very depleted and disconnected, with unhelpful ideas and descriptions of ourselves. Sally will work with you to discover ways to lessen the influence of the problem/s in your life and make more room for your hopes, commitments, passions, values and dreams

Sally Tomkins studied for her Bachelor Science (Psychology) Honours at the University of New South Wales and for her Masters of Clinical Psychology at the University of Wollongong. She has worked in the field for 13 years. She has a background working within a large centre for people troubled by Alcohol and Other Drugs. In addition to alcohol and other drugs, she works with people experiencing the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and those wanting to build confidence and self-esteem.
