Shane Piddington

Shane has a background in the public health system working with people suffering with issues of addiction and homelessness. As a result Shane has an intimate and comprehensive knowledge of addiction and has worked with those who form some the most disadvantaged of our society.

Shane also works with those suffering from depression and anxiety. His approach is relaxed and open and is not “married” to any single approach but rather works employing techniques that suit the individuality of the person he is working with.

Shane has an interest in career change and life change issues. He works under the premise that stages of life can present us with new choices and sometimes dilemmas and that for some can be difficult to negotiate. People go into careers, relationships, and work, assuming that it will provide them with meaning and satisfaction for their entire life. He understands that if this is not the case it may be difficult to resolve or reconcile and that help may be needed to move through that process.

Shane is an experienced group psychotherapist. He believes strongly in the effectiveness of interpersonal groups as an agent of change for those who experience issues in their relationships.

Shane is trained as a psychotherapist and counsellor and practices in Glebe, Sydney.
